This Privacy Policy explains how MockUp Buddy, operated by Design Buddy Ltd, collects, uses and protects information when you use our website, web app and related services.
1. Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including your email address, account details, saved mock-ups, feedback and information needed to manage your subscription.
We may also collect limited technical and usage information, such as browser type, device information, pages or features used, error logs and approximate usage data. This helps us operate, secure and improve the service.
2. Uploaded content
You may upload images, video, profile details and other content to create mock-ups. Some processing takes place in your browser. Where server-side processing is required, content may be temporarily transmitted to our service providers solely to complete the requested function, such as video export.
We do not claim ownership of the content you upload.
3. How we use information
- To provide and maintain MockUp Buddy.
- To authenticate accounts and manage access to paid features.
- To process payments and subscriptions.
- To save mock-ups where you choose to use that feature.
- To diagnose technical issues, prevent abuse and improve the product.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
Canva connection and design transfers
If you connect Canva, we store a hashed Canva user/team identifier linked to your MockUp Buddy account so designs can reach the right account. Connection requests expire after 10 minutes. Transfers temporarily contain your exported PNG, design title and optional caption, and expire after 30 minutes. Opening a design triggers removal of its temporary transfer; expired records are cleaned while the server is running. Disconnecting in Canva removes the account connection. These functional records are separate from optional product measurement.
4. Payments
If you choose to receive marketing emails, we record your choice and when you made it. We may email you MockUp Buddy tips and offers, including an offer after you use your free exports. This choice is optional and does not affect your account. You can turn marketing emails off in Your account or use the unsubscribe option in any marketing email. We do not treat an account signup alone as permission to send marketing emails.
Payments are processed by Stripe. MockUp Buddy does not store your full card details. Stripe processes payment information in accordance with its own privacy terms.
5. Service providers
We use third-party service providers to operate parts of MockUp Buddy, including hosting, authentication, database services and payment processing. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
6. Cookies and local storage
MockUp Buddy may use cookies, browser storage or similar technologies where necessary for account sessions, preferences, saved settings and core product functionality. We collect aggregate usage events, including page views, broad referral sources, platform and format choices, safe-zone tool use, upload selections, sign-in and pricing actions, export errors and download starts. By default these events are anonymous and contain no account or visit identifiers. If you choose Allow in Measurement preferences, we link subsequent activity to your signed-in account and store a random session identifier in browser session storage to recognise visits in that tab. Your choice is stored locally and can be changed using Measurement preferences at the bottom of the studio. Declining or withdrawing stops future linkage; it does not remove previously recorded activity. We never record email addresses, uploaded files, filenames, captions or raw referral URLs in product measurement. Separately, verified Stripe checkout records contain account ID, plan, payment status, amount, currency and transaction reference for billing reporting; test payments are marked separately. IP addresses are used transiently for request rate limiting and are not stored in the analytics table. We honour browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for this feature. Operational hosting and account logs are separate from these analytics events.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and maintain security. Temporary processing files may be deleted sooner once the requested operation is complete.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to access, correct or request deletion of certain data. You may also be able to object to or restrict certain processing.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
MockUp Buddy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The latest version will always be published on this page with an updated date.
